Inequality of social standard of living distribution: inter-country comparison
This article is devoted to the issues of methodology of inter-country comparison of population living standards. In CIS countries methodological tools used for indicating poverty rate are different, and criteria standards for indicating socio-economic groups of population which differ from each other according to quality of life haven’t been developed yet. The article offers methodological tools to compare distribution of living standards in different countries, gives their background and shows the results of their application in five CIS countries – Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine. Taking into account the principle of conformity in initial information and in method of indicating poverty rate the article also shows and analyses several model distributions of population in economic groups with different living standards

in Russian regions (2009)
Differentiation of quality and living standards in regions in 2008-2009 is considered on the basis of the system of social standards. The conclusions are made about great differences between Russian regions according to Gross Regional Product, purchasing power of money income, absolute poverty and indicators of inequality of distribution of population income. Several threats of social security of our country have been determined due to low quality and living standard of population.

Monitoring of income and living standards in Russia: January – March 2011
This article represents numeral and analytic information received while researching interconnected score card which characterizes incomes and living standards of population. The article describes estimate indicators received by methods developed in the All-Russian Centre of Living Standards. These indicators are related to incomes and living standards of population in the 4th quarter of 2010 and also the 1st quarter of 2011 around Russia and in its regions and sub-federal units in comparison with corresponding period of last year.

Economic evaluation of management decisions when investigating risk for people’s health
The priority of maintaining and improving population health is risk management with the application of new economic concepts, based on evaluation of potential and real risk for human health from the influence of adverse environmental factors and ratios of “cost-benefit” and “cost-effectiveness”. The application of economic tools for managing risk for health allows to evaluate different activities in totality and also in separate priority areas; to range different courses of events in the context of their effectiveness, to evaluate costs for the unit of risk reduction and profit increase (damage reduction).

The influence of labour factors on socio-demographic phenomena
The author of the article made an attempt to discover labour factors which has a strong impact on sociodemographic indicators: birth rate, death rate and life span. While analyzing western and Russian macroeconomic models the author gives reasons for the necessity of complex approach in development and realization of sociodemographic programmes of the state.

In most regions of the Russian Federation, including Moscow, exist serious problems associated with staffing for the economy and in the education system. There is an imbalance in treatment to the profile, structure and volume of personnel training. The most demanded by industry profession are becoming scarcer. In the article are presented the formal rate of professional education system and the results of opinion polls. Assort need for qualitative transformation of the education system, developing effective mechanisms for its management. Questioned the availability to public primary and secondary vocational education. Formed the main directions of state policy addressed to solve the existing problems, including the formation of an effective system of professional orientation and optimization of the spatial distribution of the network of educational institutions.

The article deals with the politics of motivation and incentives for staff of enterprises in Russia today, which should be based on specific requirements.
